Last week members decided that our action for this year's HIA project will be to give a nutrition presentation at an elementary school. New Business:
Just a reminder to everyone now that the semester is coming to an end to save Wednesdays at 1:30-2:30pm on their calendars for the chapter's weekly meeting for the Spring 2014 semester. We would really enjoy seeing some new faces!
Old Business:
Also, President, Anna Buetow, reminds members of the Regional and International events that will be coming up next Semester:
The first is Lincoln Lockin in Springfield, Illinois. It will be on Saturday, February 22 and Sunday, February 23. This event is a very fun one. It gives the Illinois Region, Phi Theta Kappa members a chance to meet and hang out while learning more about their region and Phi Theta Kappa. EVERYONE is encouraged to come along!
The second is Phi Theta Kappa's annual International Convention. This convention will be held in Orlando Florida onWednesday, April 23rd to Saturday, April 26th. This is a very fun opportunity for members to learn about Phi Theta Kappa on an International scale with so many other people. It is also one of the most expensive trips the chapter takes each year.
A head count soon for each event will help the Treasurer come up with an estimate of how much it will cost. PLEASE email at any time if you're interested. This does not mean you HAVE to go, but it does mean you're interested and would like more information.
**Please note: Conferences/events are paid for by both the chapter and the members who are attending. Unfortunately, money can be tight, so the chapter cannot provide a free ride for anyone. Those who are active in the Chapter's activities in any way will be taken into consideration as funds are available fore each conference/events, so participate and increase your chance of getting to join us on these exciting adventures! Also, please remember that anyone is able to attend. However, when chapter funds for events are being used, ones activity level may play a role in the relief of some of the costs for any member. Hopefully, this is understood. If not, please email President, Anna Buetow at [email protected]Thank you!
